The trail runs harmless at the top of a rib, the upper edge of a hard layer of erect sediment layers. These hard nailflips between Jona and Diemberg have resisted the erosion of the glaciers of the last Ice Age better than the softer sandstones and marl in between.

The same path is also known to mountain bikers as the "Gratweg Trail". It always offers beautiful views and has now recovered to some extent from the "destruction" caused by forest work with large machines. However, it has become much wider than before.
