In 1967, the first pedestrian bridge was built at this location. It led to VEB Textilmaschinenbau Gera of the Textima combine on the left bank of the river, which is why it was colloquially called the Textimasteg. In the course of preparations for the Bundesgartenschau 2007, this bridge was demolished in August 2005 and the new one erected. On March 28, 2006, it officially received the name Textimasteg.
