The Mouse Tower on the Rheinaue in Alsum, close to Alsumer Berg, was a pump building for the steelworks that are still located there today. The Schwelgern coking plant and the steelworks / smelters from ArcelorMittal, ThyssenKrupp, Mannesmann can be seen within sight. The village of Alsum used to be here, this place no longer exists and is now located under the former landfill mountain (Alsumer Berg) and the hut area. Also at this point was the influence of the Emscher in the Rhine, which can be found today at Eppinghofen (Dinslaken).
