Yes, the officially signposted Elter cycle path is really an imposition in this area. However, if you have pushed your way through the forest for the last few meters, you will only come across a split forest path, which then also turns into asphalt.
It is better to turn towards Schweinitz in Schweinitz and use the bike path parallel to the main road. It definitely drives better.
