In the early 14th century, Haus Wiek was mentioned as a moated castle owned by the von Cleyhorst family, who had it as a fief from the St. Mauritz monastery in Münster. In 1519 it went to the von Schenking family and in 1770 to the Barons von Wrede. Since 1854 the complex has belonged to the Counts of Korff-Schmiesing zu Tatenhausen.
