In some places on the lake, which is around one square kilometer in size, you can jump into the water for a refreshing swim. Otherwise, the shore area is often overgrown with reeds and offers a great habitat for many birds.

The Zeesener See is an inland lake between Senzig and Zeesen, both districts of Königs Wusterhausen. It is connected to the Dahme by the Fanggraben (drain). Another stream in Körbiskrug connects the Zeesener See with the Todnitzsee further south.
The Fanggraben and parts of the Senziger Luchs, which adjoins the lake to the north, belong to the Tiergarten nature reserve, which was formed in 1995.
