The small islands are an area between Krogenlund and Ganløse Eget. The site is part of the Mølleå tunnel valley, which was created by the melting water during the ice during the last ice age. The place is a watershed. The Mølleå river originates, which runs east to Øresund. The water from the western part of the bog runs westward and ends in Roskilde Fjord via Græse Å and Værebro.
