The Kühnauer Heide is a natural heritage area of around 946 hectares that extends west of Dessau to the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld.
On the cycle path you can see the open land habitats such as inland dunes and base-rich sandy grassland on both sides. But also oak and pine forests are part of the picture.
