Hiking

The castle was probably built before 1100 by the Lords of Tailfingen and abandoned before 1250. Nothing is known about the builders and inhabitants of the castle. It can be assumed that the Tailfinger gentlemen in the vicinity of the Peterskirche additionally had a local castle. The gentlemen are mentioned only in the 14th century. The castle, which had not been inhabited for a long time, was finally abandoned when the count Mülli von Zolr sold the Schalksburg and thus also Tailfingen 1403 to the Württembergers.
