Hiking

Like many other lakes, the Hariksee lies on the Schwalm.
The Schwalm flows from its source slightly south from Tüschenbroich near Geneiken to the Meuse at Schwalmen and is 45.3 km long.
Along the river there are various lakes and alluvial landscapes as well as several watermills.
Many of these watermills are managed and you can take a break in a very nice atmosphere.
There are also very nice towns like Wegberg or Brüggen.
The entire Schwalm can be hiked or explored on the Schwalm bike path.
Definitely worth seeing!

The Hariksee on the Lower Rhine, between Schwalmtal and Niederkrücht, is a local recreation area in the region of the Lower Rhine.
The Hariksee has a water surface of approx. 20 ha and has an age of approx. 8,000 to 12,000 years. The lake, through which the Schwalm flows, was given its current shape by the gorges in the 17th century. The banks of Lake Hariksee consist of quarry forest zones and bogs overgrown with black alder.
