The inner harbor is also an anchor point on the Industrial Heritage Route:
With mills and warehouses, the center of the German grain trade was created around 1900 at Duisburg's inner harbor. After the Second World War, the inner harbor lost its importance, and in the 1970s the old grain warehouses were threatened with demolition. Today, architects, artists and urban planners are transforming it into an attractive city district that combines work, living and leisure. Special attractions include the MKM Museum Küppersmühle for Modern Art, the attractive restaurant area, the Culture and City History Museum and the tours through Europe's largest inland harbor from the Steiger Schwanentor. The "Marina Duisburg" exudes maritime flair with 133 berths, yacht service, sports boat rental and other boat-related services.

Impressive - hopefully it will last 200 years - then the investment is also cheap
