Schwerte Market Square 🍅

While the historic medieval market was several hundred meters further north at the geographic center of town, today's Schwerte market square (Marktplatz) was at times a grave yard for St Viktor church, and always next to the administrative center, the (long disappeared) Schwerte castle, with the Old Town Hall and the St Viktor Church on the eastern side, faced by the 1980 redesigned City Center. On Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. there are a few market stalls all over the square. As a hiker, you can conveniently buy provisions here or even have a fish sandwich made for you. The church is also open to visitors at market time.
