The 915 m high Gräbelesberg vantage point forms a rugged mountain outcrop consisting of mass limestone that rises high above the Eyachtal. The Gräbelesberg is on the premium hiking trail Taufgang Hossinger Leiter and rewards the ascent from the Brunnental with a unique view of the beautiful landscape of the Swabian Jura. From the northern tip of the approx. 5 hectare plateau you can see the Eyachtal, the foothills of the Alb and the Schalksburg on the opposite side.

The Gräblesberg plateau is connected to the Alb plateau by a narrow passage that is only around 40 m wide. As early as the 8th to 5th century BC, the Celts used the Gräbelesberg with its unique view as a natural fortress as a refuge and defensive structure. Remains of the once four meter high and hundreds of meter long protective walls can still be found today, telling of terrible wars and bloody battles.

Everywhere on the Albtrauf you can discover cairns that are being built higher and higher by one or the other hiker
