The Ihlingen Water Museum is a former pumping station that has been converted into a technical water museum. The industrial monument dates back to 1898 and was built for Rexingen and Ihlingen as a central high-pressure water supply after 17 houses in the upper part of Rexingen burned down in 1891 due to insufficient fire-fighting water. The drinking water was used for the water supply of house connections and for water extraction in the event of fire.
