The Olper Mühle was first mentioned in a document in 1383 as "Die Moele In der Oelpen". The grain mill used the water of the Olpebach, which was dammed and routed via a mill ditch to the overshot mill wheel. The millstones placed in front of the mill bear inscriptions with dates. One reads W HB GB E L 1842. Wilhelm Haasbach, born in Olpermühle in 1798, and Gertrud Berger commissioned the millstones in Birresborn in the Vulkaneifel region. The letters E L stand for marriage people.
