Since 2006, the Müther tower is a popular place of mourning with almost 360 degree panoramic views. The former rescue tower of the Binz architect Ulrich Müther is one of the branch offices of the official registry office in the Haus des Gastes. Located directly on Strandzugang 6, it offers through its large windows a unique view of the Baltic Sea up to the chalk cliffs of the peninsula Jasmund. In the 1960s, Ulrich Müther laid the foundation for extravagant Hyparschalenkonstruktionen, based on the Binzer rescue tower was built in 1981. Müther's concrete buildings attracted worldwide attention.

By Ulrich Müther, civil engineer and contractor from Binz. A master of thin shell structures made of reinforced concrete. Also known are the restaurant Teepott in Warnemünde and some planetariums. Unfortunately demolished the restaurant maple leaf in Berlin. You can find out more from the local panel of the Förderverein Museum Binz.

The pictured tower is located in Binz, not here in Baabe. Müther structures are also available here. On the one hand the small round pavilion in the spa park and on the other hand the island paradise, a few steps to the north.

A real eye-catcher and the proof that DDR architecture can not only be prefabricated buildings.

Former rescue tower, designed by Ulrich Müther, who was born in Binz in 1934. Today you can get married here, among other things. A little story on the side: The lifeguards had no opportunity to move in the tower, as it is always completely visible.
