This is the rescue station of Strandwache 1 from 1981. The rescue station was used by the beach patrol until 2003.
An identical rescue tower 2 from 1975 stood at the current entrance to the pier and was demolished in 1993.
Designed and built by Ulrich Müther, civil engineer and building contractor from Binz. A master of thin shell structures (hypar shells) made of reinforced concrete. The Teepott restaurant in Warnemünde and some planetariums - including the bus shelter in Binz - are also well known. Unfortunately, the Ahornblatt restaurant in Berlin was demolished. You can find out more from the local board of the Binz Museum Support Association.

This tower used to be a lifeguard tower, it looks very modern despite its age. Today it is a branch of the Binz registry office

Since 2006, the Müther Tower has been a popular wedding location with an almost 360-degree panoramic view. The former rescue tower designed by the Binz architect Ulrich Müther is one of the branch offices of the official registry office in the Haus des Gastes. Located directly at beach access 6, it offers a unique view of the Baltic Sea and the chalk cliffs of the Jasmund peninsula through its large window fronts.

In the 1960s, Ulrich Müther laid the foundation for extravagant hypar shell constructions, on the basis of which the rescue tower in Binz was built in 1981. Müther's concrete buildings attracted worldwide attention.
