Between Las Dueñas and Muros de Nalón we come across this beautiful 1,184 meter long viaduct that crosses the valleys formed by the Uncín and Especuero rivers. Shell-shaped, this viaduct favors cyclists thanks to the reduction in traffic on this road.

The construction of the A-8 freeway, alternating between tunnels and massive tall bridges along the Northern Spanish Coast, created some esthetically questionable damage in previously undisturbed landscapes. However, it did create some engineering marvels, like this "conch"-shaped viaduct, and dramatically reduced traffic on the old national highway, making biking safer and often car-free for long times.

The viaduct is located in the section Las Dueñas - Muros de Nalón. It is 1,184 meters long and crosses the valleys of the Uncín and Especuero rivers. It was built with precast cantilever segments 110 meters high. With the new layout, the high concentration of traffic in the area is avoided, improving communications and promoting tourism in the region.
