The construction of the A-8 freeway, alternating between tunnels and massive tall bridges along the Northern Spanish Coast, created some esthetically questionable damage in previously undisturbed landscapes. However, it did create some engineering marvels, like this "conch"-shaped viaduct, and dramatically reduced traffic on the old national highway, making biking safer and often car-free for long times.

Viaduct located in the section Las Dueñas - Muros de Nalón (Asturias) of the N-632 road, has 1,184 meters in length and crosses the valleys of the Uncín and Especuero rivers. It has been built with prefabricated cantilevered voussoirs at 110 meters high.
With the new route, the high concentration of traffic in the area is avoided, contributing to the improvement of communications, thus promoting tourism in the region.
