Tenaya Lake one of the easiest accessible and most beautiful alpine lakes in Yosemite National Park, Located between Yosemite Valley and Tuolumne Meadows there are very short trails from the parking lots or road side pull offs to reach it's shore and beaches. The surface of Tenaya Lake has an elevation of 8,150 feet (2,484 m). The lake basin was formed by glacial action, which left a backdrop of light granite rocks, whose beauty was known to the Native Americans. Today, Tenaya Lake is easily accessible by Tioga Pass Road (State Route 120) and is a popular lake for water activities. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenaya_Lake

Stop at Tenaya Lake. Again, an incredibly beautiful area and aptly described by Traveler. The outflow of the lake is the Tenaya Creek, it flows through the Tenaya Canyon in the Yosemite Valley, here I could probably spend a whole week and enjoy the wild nature.

Nestled between giant granite domes and the clear skies of the Sierra Nevada, Tenaya Lake is the largest lake in Yosemite's frontcountry. Due to its remarkable scenic qualities, inviting blue waters, and proximity to Tioga Road, Tenaya Lake is one of the most popular destinations for summer visitors to Yosemite. It is very popular for picnicking, swimming, and canoeing. Tenaya Lake was named after Chief Tenaya, the last chief of the Yosemite Indians.
