Very close to the village of Kühnhaide is a peat bog that has existed since the last ice age. A small nature trail leads you through the forest and you can read up on tablets about the plants, animals and peculiarities of the moor. There is also a small wooden vantage point from which you can overlook the area. Especially beautiful is a trip to the moor around the beginning to mid-June. At that time, the cotton grass is blooming and it looks like a white fluffy carpet has settled over the moor. And when you are very quiet, you may even hear the call of the cuckoo.
