The bay at the Kassiópi is a natural harbor, where sailboats and motor yachts are today.
Very nice to take a break here in one of the small cafes.
In ancient times Kassiópi was an important port. Ships from Italy reached protected waters again after crossing the open sea, and ships on the way there were able to wait for favorable weather in Kassiópis. Thus, for example, Cicero or Emperor Nero for a few days in the city.
