A place to stay in the middle of the big city in a small green oasis.

"... The Ahbach is a river in Bochum in the catchment area of the Emscher. It has a length of 2.8 km.
It rises in Höntrop near the suburb of Eppendorf not far from the street "Am Ahbach". First in a north-easterly direction, it flows along a forest through the fields of the Krummen Ecke to Engelburg as an open stream. Under the Wattenscheid-Bochum Hbf railway line, it is piped on, re-emerges at the tennis halls and runs along the Sauren Wiese until it is routed underground again behind Essener Straße. Turning in a wide arc to the north, it is passed on under the ThyssenKrupp plant in Höntrop until it reappears as a canal on the surface after the A 40. A few meters later, at the height of the Bochum-West motorway triangle, it flows into the Kabeisemannsbach, which is also canalized and later flows into the Goldhammer Bach. This flows into the Hüller Bach, which empties into the Emscher.
The upper reaches of the Ahbach (in the area of the former Marianne colliery) no longer has any springs. The dry weather runoff begins a little behind the lane opening in the Saure Wiese area, a little below the tennis club, through an attached former hereditary tunnel. ... "
