"... The Ahbach is a river in Bochum in the catchment area of the Emscher. It has a length of 2.8 km.
It rises in Höntrop near the suburb of Eppendorf not far from the street "Am Ahbach". First in a north-easterly direction, it flows along a forest through the fields of the Krummen Ecke to Engelburg as an open stream. Under the Wattenscheid-Bochum Hbf railway line, it is piped on, re-emerges at the tennis halls and runs along the Sauren Wiese until it is routed underground again behind Essener Straße.
