The present church was built in place of a 1519 burned down during the Hildesheim Penalty feud Romanesque predecessor building and completed after a construction period of two years in 1521. The simple, simple nave with a dark red ceiling has space for around 320 visitors. The church is 25 meters long and 10 meters wide.
