Two of the monumental burial mounds
PRINCE'S BURIAL MOUNTAIN AND OUTSIDE SETTLEMENT
Gießübel-Talhau four early Celtic burial mounds. The most notable finds from these tombs are a 31 cm long bronze spearhead, a bronze cauldron, four Etruscan beaded bowls and parts of a harness. The graves are located on the territory of an outlying settlement covering an area of 100 hectares. Towards the end of the 6th century BC. the outer settlement was violently destroyed together with the Heuneburg.

Excavations confirmed that the group of burial mounds in the Gießübel/Talhau area was apparently built in the late Iron Age on the remains of a recently abandoned settlement, which in turn can be regarded as an outlying settlement of Heuneburg, 400 meters away. This means that the entire settlement area in the Heuneburg area is significantly larger than originally assumed.
Unfortunately, during the excavations it was discovered that grave robbers had already stolen most of the treasures.
