Hiking Highlight
The Schlosspark Biesdorf is a park based on the English model. Originally created as a closed garden of the landowner, the park was opened to all visitors from 1927.
In the park is still the castle Biesdorf, an elegant villa on the Italian model. It houses today the ZKR, the center for art and public space. In the castle you can visit the ZKR exhibitions or participate in their events. You will also find a cozy café in the rooms of the castle, where homemade cakes, soups and of course hot and cold drinks are offered.
More information about the ZKR can be found at zkr-berlin.de/de/home-de

After 1990, this monument was lovingly and historically restored. The park is one of the most beautiful green areas of the district. May 2010 the Schlosspark Biesdorf received the Green Flag Award. The green flag, the "Green Flag Award", is a prize that is awarded nationally in Great Britain for parks that present themselves to the public as open, visitor-friendly and clean.

First of all, the landlord had an ice cellar built into the site in cylindrical shapes, 3.80 meters in diameter and 7.50 meters high. The entrance to this fresh food system was in the north of the park. In winter, the estate employees fetched natural ice from the Wuhle to be stored in the ice cellar, so that the food could be kept fresh for almost six months (until September / October).
The ice cellar was redesigned around 1900 by the architect Paul Hentschel in such a way that it formed a more perfect garden ensemble with the other existing buildings and plantings. The north side of the ice cellar received a double-barreled curved staircase made of red Main sandstone and was decorated with twelve ball attachments.
A small pond was created in front of the ice cellar, the ice of which now cooled the storage rooms. The excavation formed an elevation on the north side.

Nothing exciting! I always use this route in between, to come down, to relax, to organize my thoughts. The castle park Biesdorf is not large and located directly at the train station Biesdorf. Transportation does not matter to me. My philosophy: everything up to 5 km easy way will be achieved in principle. Beyond that, it's sports.
The park is ideal for walkers and joggers and is also very popular. From me too. The areal is pleasantly shady. Highly recommended.

Nice park to spend the day relaxing. Brigt a blanket, there are enough meadow areas to make yourself comfortable on it. There is a pond there, watch this one, there is a lot to discover = O)
