    South Tyrol's most powerful marble quarry
    It is South Tyrol's most powerful marble quarry and one of the world's most powerful deposits of white marble in a mountain massif: the Weißwasserbruch. At 1,526 m, the quarry, located at the orographically right entrance to the Lasa Valley, leads several kilometers deep into the interior of the Lasa Marble Mountain via a widely ramified network of labyrinthine corridors and mining halls. With a total length of 4 kilometers, a width of 20 meters and a height of 30 to 40 meters, the tunnels are as large as cathedrals. The marble quarry got its name from the nearby small waterfall called "white water", the water of which is enriched by the minerals and substances contained in the marble.
