In the midst of the intensely agriculturally used landscape, this diked area, like an island, lies like a paradise for the areas previously stolen by nature. Those who want to experience silence, who would like to observe birds - especially waterfowl - will find here what the agricultural industry and our resource consumption have otherwise taken from the original environment.
Having become useless as a water retention basin, this man-made structure is now helping nature regain what it belongs to - with careful human support.
A great discovery for me.

Beavers have settled here! The strictly protected animals have spread from the Emsland via the Hase and the Fladder Canal and have now evidently settled in the Lüscher Polder.
