The Benedictine monastery of Burg Dinklage, also known as the "Abbey of St. Scholastika", and its surrounding buildings are beautifully situated in the airy, wooded area of the nature reserve. It is definitely worth experiencing this place. The atmosphere is fantastic and beautiful.

Beautifully situated between old trees, a medieval complex with various buildings unfolds. The sites are historically significant as the monastery of St. Scholastica and as the birthplace of the later Cardinal Clemens August Graf von Galen.

One approaches the site through old trees and is immediately gripped by a special atmosphere, as the old buildings are a rarity in the Oldenburger Münsterland.
It is advisable to plan a little more time to cover all of this. After that, nothing stands in the way of an ice cream or a kebab on the market square - you are then fixed there. Self-caterers will find benches and corners to rest in peace.
