On May 11, 1664, Ivo von Hoen, Baron von Cartils19 and half of the landlord von Stockem, gave the Capuchins four large acres20 to 150 Ruten21 land on which to build the building and the church. Said site was "boven de porte" in Claesveld, 22 where the St Nicholas Church owned land.
