The retention basin Michelbachsee is located at the edge of the forest between Michelbach and Zaberfeld. It is idyllically situated in a natural landscape and serves as a bird sanctuary to preserve the flora and fauna. Bathing is therefore not allowed. The lake is nourished by the Michelbach, which gave the Michelbach suburb its name.
