The baroque palace on the top of the Schwarzach terrace only dates from the period after the Thirty Years' War. Before it does not appear in any document. It must have been built around 1647. Franz von Schwab, baron of Lichtenberg, who had been living in Nuremberg since 1634 and who had been expelled from Austria in the middle of the Thirty Years' War, moved to this little castle several years after the end of the war, where he died in 1671. Later the "manor house" became the property of various farmers, who were therefore called "castle builders" or "gentlemen builders". In 1853, Johann Michael Scheuerlein, a farmer and timber trader, bought the property and used it as a farm. It is still owned by this family today. Every year there is an "Easter and art market", an "art and garden market" and a Christmas market on the property. schloss-sorg.com
