Oscar Blumenthal was a dreaded theater critic until he started to write plays. So also the comedy "Das Weiße Rössl". This was immediately successful and later became the immortal operetta of the same name with the melodies by Rolf Benatzky. All figures in the comedy are taken from living people in Bad Ischl. So the reference to St. Wolfgang is rather secondary!
