Den Bramel Castle

The house was renovated in that period with material from a former church. This is evident, for example, from the roof ridge, which bears the inscription 'Soli Deo Gloria 1735'. There is also the small spire of which the weather vane is provided with a rooster. Finally, there is the dome on the forecourt, which consists of a number of parts of a church organ.
The estate is open to the public, the castle itself and surrounding gardens are private.

Den Bramel Castle is a country estate and former castle in the heart of the Achterhoek. The castle is old: as early as 1396 there is mention of one Gerrit den Bramel, or Gerrit van Bramelen.
