In contrast to mountain huts in the Alps, the Refugio de Altavista does not have a restaurant or sun terrace with large meals. On the simple hut, on the other hand, you can sleep in comfortable beds, then climb to the summit of Teide at dawn and experience an incredible sunrise there. In the hut there is a self-catering kitchen and a total of 54 beds. Bed linen is available on site and a hut sleeping bag is not absolutely necessary.
Day hikers can of course also take a break on the terrace or seek shelter in the lounge if the weather is bad. There are also cold and hot drinks for thirsty mountaineers.
Insider tip: Anyone who spends the night at the hut and climbs to the summit early in the morning does not need a special permit. The hut is open all year round. More information at volcanoteide.com/de/die_berghuette_altavista.

Make your reservation early enough to ensure yourself an accomodation. Avomodation includes a comfy bed, disposable linnens, self service kitchen, bathroom with cold water, vending machines for water and snaks (bring coins). Please know, you are responsible for your garbage, you have to take it back down with you! :D
The overnight stay grants you a permit to the Mt. Teide for the day of check-out. Sunset is absolutely worth it!
