Tips

  • Moin Weite Welt (Markus)

The Urach waterfall is one of the absolute highlights of the Swabian Jura and, with a total drop of 37 meters, is one of the highest waterfalls in Germany outside the Alps in several stages. It is particularly impressive when the snow melts or after heavy rain, because then a lot of water flows. Together with the very damp and therefore dense and green forest all around, you almost feel like you are in a different world. There is a hut at the top of the waterfall for meals.

  • An incredibly beautiful destination. Certainly one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Germany. Especially in autumn and winter, this place exudes a special charm. A stream of wild water unfolds through rain and condensation. There are also fewer visitors here this time of year. If you walk the waterfall circular route (11km, just under 4 hours) you are quite quickly alone and can enjoy the great nature.

  • Beautiful waterfall and very idyllic for a larger rest. You don't have to eat on top of the hut if you have something with you. If you go down the waterfall, there are a few benches with a view of the waterfall :-)

  • In very cold winters, with longer periods of cold, the waterfall can even be frozen over. Then there is a spectacular natural spectacle when the cascades are frozen into bizarre ice formations. Must see!

  • The hut is open from March to October daily (weather permitting). Refreshments in the hut itself, large shelter and in good weather numerous beer tables in the meadow.
    A barbecue is also available

  • The Urach waterfall is one of the most beautiful natural spectacles in the Swabian Alb. Between 70 and 420 liters fall here about a tufa edge 37 meters in depth. The amount of water varies depending on the amount of precipitation on the previous days or snowmelt. In winter, in prolonged periods of cold, the waterfall can even be frozen.
Steps up the cascades and down the fall lead up to a bridge over the waterfall. From there you can watch the water as it plunges into the depths. The origin of the falls is still a few hundred meters further in a karst spring.

  • On beautiful days, there is hardly any space to enjoy the beauty of the waterfall

  • We were here in winter. Slight snowfall and partially frozen waterlines. One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Germany. A lot going on despite the cold.

  • Absolute recommendation - in the summer, however, compared to the spring much less water.
Directly at the waterfall climb (stairs) to the upper part of the waterfall.

  • It is best to take one day off during the week. Then nothing stands in the way of the experience.

  • If you are on the way to the Urach waterfall you can strengthen yourself on the way there in the waterfall hut. When the weather is nice the hut is open every day from March to October. Outdoors there are more places. The offer on the Vesperkarte is certainly something for everyone. Hikers on the Albsteig also like to take care of the further way here.

  • To the waterfall, it is unfortunately overcrowded. But also a nice track with Planschmöglichkeizen the creek. Behind the waterfall are significantly less crowds on the way. The waterfall itself I would recommend outside of the holidays on a best weekday.

  • Sit down & enjoy before climbing the waterfall. Upstairs there is a "hosted" hut with refreshments.

  • The Brühlbach falls as Urach waterfall in the corn valley almost 37 meters in depth.
A breathtaking sight with beautiful flora and fauna.
Best to visit in the early morning hours, otherwise the visit is similar to a pilgrimage.

  • Here the water falls 37m over an edge in the depth. During the ascent you can see and enjoy the different stages of the waterfall very well!
It is a very great natural wonder!

  • Above the waterfalls you have a great view over the fall and the course of the water. The waterfall hut offers a perfect place for a longer break on a large square. For the physical well-being is also provided here in good weather. From good Vespers on drinks of all kinds to the ice cream everything is there.
    BBQ areas are also available.

  • How much water the waterfall takes when you visit it depends on the amount of precipitation in the past days or the snowmelt. So it can be between 70 and 420 liters per second, or as in my case, just a few drops :-) Also here at the waterfall you can see that we have had a fairly dry year. The source of the waterfall is a karst spring that rises a few hundred meters from the waterfall.
