The Raisting earth station is a ground station that communicates with satellites via directional radio, thus enabling worldwide wireless transmission of data. The Raisting system consists of several antennas. The antenna I, known as the radome (radar dome), built in 1964, was previously a listed symbol for modern Bavaria. In February 2020 the storm "Bianca" destroyed the envelope of the radome. The district wants to rebuild the technical monument. In the best case scenario, the new shell should be ready by the end of 2020.
