Memorial stone to the storm Quimburga of November 13, 1972Quimburga is the name of a hurricane that crossed Central and Western Europe on November 13, 1972, causing serious damage to England, Belgium, the Netherlands, and northern Germany, and causing at least 73 deaths; in the clean-up work in the forests, 22 people were killed in Lower Saxony alone. [2] Because of the enormous damage and the numerous casualties, which left this hurricane in Lower Saxony, the event was also called Niedersachsenorkan. Overall, the hurricane in Germany caused property damage of 1.34 billion DM (in today's purchasing power 2.18 billion Euro).

WITHIN 2 HOURS, 17 MILLION METERS OF PLAGUE WOOD FELL TO THE VICTIMS OF THE STORM, ALONE IN THE AREA OF THE LÜSS FOREST OFFICE THE STORM TIMBER AMOUNTED TO 320,000 SOLID METERS, WHICH CORRESPONDED TO 15 TIMES THE NORMAL ANNUAL TIMBER FALLING, WHICH INCLUDED AREAS TO BE PLANTED AGAIN
1,700 HECTARES, THIS STONE WAS DEI OF THE RECLAMATION OF STORM SURFACES IN THE WENDSLOH - DEPT. 58 - PLOWED FROM THE GROUND. HE REMEMBER THIS MTUR DISASTER, BUT ALSO THE WORK AND DILIGENCE OF EVERYONE WHO REMOVED THIS DAMAGE,
