A former three-winged baroque palace from 1697 forms the core of today's monastery complex. The community of the Benedictines of Kirchschletten has existed since 1953 and the sisters run an organic farm, two guest houses and a wax workshop with the help of employees. The handmade candles, all unique, can, among other things. can be purchased in the monastery shop.

The Benedictine Abbey offers young women u. a. also the possibility of "temporary monastery". Since a section of the Franconian Way of St. James passes not far from Kirchschletten, a pilgrim hostel has now been set up in the abbey.
