Melickerven

A dream place for a rest. With table, benches in chill position, even a trash can is there. Class!

Very nice lake. It is worthwhile to visit both the entrance and rest area on the south side and on the north side - the view of the lake is very different.

Melicker Ven - better known in Elmpt and Niederkrüchten as "Blanke Water" - an ideal heather pond. Refuge especially for the endangered little grebes - so please do not let dogs into the water - that scares these rare animals. Was used as a refueling station for the fire-fighting helicopters during the great heather fire in April 2020 - the water was diverted here from the Schwalm for over 7 km. Therefore, despite the great heat (August 2020) still well filled.
