Hiking

This is a good waypoint for several hikes in the area. If the sun is shining, sit out and have a beer with the mountains staring you in the face. Fantastic. We also used this spot as a base for out-and-back hikes. There's food, drink, souvenirs if you like, and a clean public restroom. The trains are expensive but pretty regular so if you've had a long day of hiking and the thought of going back down to Grindelwald on foot seems taxing...easy choice.

Mountaineering

The Kleine Scheidegg lies at 2061 m above sea level. Starting point for many mountain tours and train connections to Grindelwald, the Jungfraujoch, Wengen and Lauterbrunnen. There are also cable cars to the Lauberhorn and Arven ski resort. Several restaurants, bars and souvenir shops. And not to forget, a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains.
