"The Kalmithaus, also known as the Ludwigshafener Hütte, near Maikammer in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Südliche Weinstraße is a refuge in the Palatinate Forest managed by the Ludwigshafen-Mannheim local association of the Palatinate Forest Association (PWV). It stands in the southern part of the Haardt on the summit of the 672, 6 m above sea level Kalmit and is the highest hut in the Palatinate Forest. From its terrace there is often an excellent view of the Upper Rhine Plain to the foothills of the southern Odenwald and the northern Black Forest."
