Queen Elizabeth Country Park has more than 2,000 acres (809 ha) of downland and woodland to explore. The park contains Butser Hill, the highest point on the South Downs. The predominantly beech woodland was planted in the 1930s and is criss-crossed with footpaths and cycling trails. There is also a visitor centre, play areas, picnic spots, plus more to keep you entertained.

A great cake spot whilst walking the South Downs Way. Starting in the morning at Meon Springs, we got to the Queen Elizabeth Country Park for around about elevensies. Good tea and cake, and lovely walking, running and cycling trails through a beautiful woodland.

The Queen Elizabeth Country Park facilities are really handy for South Downs Way walkers. We arrived too early in the day for the café but the toilets were open and it was nice to have breakfast on the benches in the sheltered courtyard. There's a fresh water tap outside too.
