The Ostmühle Gildehaus is a tower windmill, a so-called Erdholländer. It was built in 1749/1750 from Bentheimer sandstone, and has a long history behind it. It has been operational again since 1986 and is run and maintained by amateur guilds of the traffic and beautification association Gildehaus. And at Mahlwind hobby bakers make crispy bread in the old bakery next door from freshly ground grain. (from: sights of the county)
