Written by Jan Wiedenroth: Already in 1234 the water mill was mentioned in Lachtehausen, but not much can be found out about it.
The mill was bought in 1869 by Müller Fricke, who until then had been operating the windmill in Lachendorf.
In 1900, the waterwheel was replaced by a turbine.
In 1938 the building was topped up and the mill modernized with 5 double roller chairs.
After the death of Müller Fricke in 1963, the mill was discontinued. The granddaughter and the current owner of the farm wanted to do a miller's apprenticeship and continue to run the business, which did not happen anymore.

After the mill facility was removed, Landhandel Wächter von Celle leased the mill and built additional silo cells in the mill building. In total, about 1000 tons of grain could be stored.
Until 1991, grain was stored and dried here, the drying only had a power of 1t / h. After the cereal storage was also abandoned, oat was squeezed until 2001 in the mill building.

Since the water level of the laughs has been getting lower and lower, the turbine plant has been out of service for a long time, the parts of which now decorate the garden of the yard.
