It was Sunday noon when the machine crashed here on the mountain with a loud bang and tore a snow 80 meters long and 10 meters wide into the forest. The 43-year-old flight instructor, he was a sergeant, and the 18-year-old flight student (H.K.) Helmut Kirchner died. Technical failure of the elevator was identified as the cause of the crash.
