Bike Touring Highlight
The park is frequented mainly by citizens of (New) Ehrenfeld, picture-sticks and knick-knacks, who use the park extensively for barbecues during the summer months, also because the grounds of the park offer many niches. Dog owners, joggers and mothers with their children like to make their rounds in the Blücherpark. For children, there is a large playground on the northeast side, and there are two fairly natural football pitches.View the full image

Worth seeing are the large lion sculptures and the scattered concrete balls throughout the park. Grower Fritz Encke designed the park as the "Green Lung of the North of Cologne" and did a great job: until today, the Blücherpark is an equally close and attractive way to escape the noise and unrest of the former workers' settlements in the north of Cologne. Today, the park is also used by employees of the adjacent RheinEnergie for the lunch break.

Very nice park. It's worth a visit.
The Blücherpark is a green area in Cologne district Bilderstöckchen, district of Cologne-Nippes. The Volkspark was built in the years 1911 to 1913 according to the plans of the garden architect Fritz Encke. It is considered the first urban park for the former industrial precincts Ehrenfeld and Nippes in the northwest and north of Cologne. Its current size is 18.4 ha.
