A summit cross. The highlight of the ascent. Right next to it is another disk that shows you what you see in all directions. The way to the cross is a bit narrower for a short time and may not be suitable for those who are afraid of heights. But if you're here ... come on;)

Great view of the nearby church, the valley and the "antenna". There is also a disc that shows what you see in all directions (summit, etc.)

You have wonderful views up here. A breathtaking view chases the other. The highest church in Europe is waiting for you above, which has stood on the 2167m high mountain since 1692 and defies wind and weather.

Very good road to the parking lot, about 17km scenic road. From there, a good dirt road leads to the summit.

On the top of the 2,166-meter-high Dobratsch you will not only find a great view of the Drau valley, but also a small mountain church. The church Maria am Stein was already inaugurated in 1693 and is thus the highest located old mountain church of the Eastern Alps - the even higher built churches are all considerably younger. The church is dedicated to Saint Mary. According to legend, she appeared up here to a shepherd who had gotten lost in the fog. She shone his way and he came safely down to the valley.

At the summit you have an unbelievably beautiful all-round view. In the south the Karawanks with the Triglav, the highest mountain in Slovenia. In addition, the view of the Gailtal and the border triangle. The Wörthersee with Klagenfurt in the east simply invites you to marvel and enjoy. In good weather you can see the Hochalmspitze (3,360m).Due to the two churches on the summit, the Dobratsch is the highest Marian pilgrimage site in Europe.Very easy to do for kids. It's not really suitable for prams.

Spectacular view from the Koralpe to the Grossglockner

The summit cross is worth the climb. However, it is not at this location, but further west about 400 meters uphill.

The Jägersteig is very nice, you have to be careful in a few places, otherwise you will slip a long way. Definitely nothing for slippers. Also be careful after rain

Simply WOW🤩, up here you are rewarded with a fantastic all-round view.
Was here on the Pentecost weekend, there were still snow fields to hike on. No problem with proper shoes.😉

This year a lightning strike hit the summit cross, recognizable the bright spots in the picture

If you want to drive to the car park, you have to pay a toll of 19.50 euros. 😅 The paths are very wide but heavily gravelled, so sturdy shoes are important. Of course, there is also a Jägersteig to the summit.
But it is only suitable for very experienced hikers.😃
A head for heights is required at the top of the cross. But while you're there... Close your eyes and through
Simply wonderful views here of the Slovenian and Italian Alps and with a bit of luck you can see the Grossglockner. Of course, the cattle also roam free here.😃
