After a rather crisp conclusion, one can on the one hand look pretty far into the foothills of the Alps, up to the Starnbergersee or Ammersee, on the other hand one has a nice view to the Herzogstand and Heimgarten as well as the ridge path which connects the two.

The view is simply terrific. Been up there several times now, also with my 3 huskies (always on a lead due to hunting instinct) ;-) ....
Mistress / owner and dogs should be absolutely sure-footed and free from giddiness, especially on the last few meters to the summit.

Wonderful mountain hike. The Rötelstein is wrongly neglected in view of the "nearby" mountains Herzogstand and Heimgarten. The view from the summit is fantastic. Two benches, a standing platform and a table mounted on the summit cross ensure a comfortable stay.
The last ascent (approx. 50 meters in altitude) has it all. In winter I would definitely recommend Grödel for this. You should also be in good physical condition if it is a winter ascent, as usually no marked ascent can be expected. On the whole, a very recommendable mountain for hikers who prefer peace and yet still a panorama😁
