Between Ronquières and Seneffe are the remains of the old Brussels-Charleroi canal. You can no longer sail on it, but you can easily get everywhere with your bike. What remains of the old canal is as fascinating as a visit to the inclined plane.

A stretch of about 8 km along a meandering canal. Between Arquennes and Ronquières, you'll see 8 (defunct) locks: they were used to overcome the altitude difference until 1968, when the Ronquières inclined plane was opened. Now, you can walk or bike along the canal, with here and there some cobblestone sections
