The almost 9 kilometer long hiking trail between Waldheim and Limmritz bears the strange name Bankrottmeile, as it runs along a structurally very demanding section of the Chemnitz Riesa railway line. The railway line leading along the Zschopau had to overcome 5 deep side valleys and finally the Zschopau itself at Limmritz. This required not only 6 large arch bridges, but also massive earthworks and retaining walls due to the steep slopes on the banks of the Zschopau. These high investment costs drove the Chemnitz Riesaer Eisenbahngesellschaft into insolvency in 1848, which led to their nationalization in 1850. In 1852 the line was then opened.
The vantage point is located at one of the highest points on the hiking trail and offers a wide view of the Zschopau valley, the railway lines and the town of Waldheim.
