Bækslugten is the result of a natural disaster that occurred in Lønstrup on August 11, 1877.
A cleft cuts through the dune, created during this natural disaster. After a cloudburst, houses, sand, and earth were swept away by the water masses.

After wet weather (less loose sand), the entire path is accessible by bike with suitable equipment (tires!!!) and sufficient muscle power, since the sewage treatment plant was relocated underground a few years ago. But be careful of pedestrians... 😉
